Frequently Asked Questions about the Future
answers by Ronald L. Conte Jr.

1. You make some very specific predictions that seem to be based (at least to me) on solid evidence. But can you tell us how the information you used to arrive at these conclusions, which has been around for some time, has just now been deciphered to give you the conclusions you draw? How come nobody else has figured out the level of detail you have?

My dates are based in part on the 70 weeks of years in Daniel, which began with the declaration of the State of Israel in 1948. Before that date people did not have the information needed, namely the date of the starting point of the 70 weeks of years, in order to figure out the time frame for the great monarch (who is mentioned in the 70 weeks of years) and in order to figure out the date for the Antichrist's reign (the last week of years of the 70 weeks of years), at the end of which Christ returns.

Also, a number of years had to pass after the founding of Israel for people to realize that this was a fundamental event in human history. So before then it would have been much more difficult to determine the dates based on the 70 weeks of years.

Once I had that general time outline for events - the great monarch's reign and the later reign of the Antichrist - I could determine which events occurred before and after those events by examining Sacred Scripture. For example, the great monarch's reign must be preceded by WW3, and the inter-war period, and WW4.

Also, I have figured out the dates for the secrets of Garabandal and Medjugorje, from a knowledge of Scripture and from hints that our Lady gave at Garabandal (all of which information is readily available to you). These dates further add to this outline of when things happen.

Then there are various Scripture passage which indicate the order of various events, so that by placing such events into this timeline, I can determine the general range of dates for events that are not dated by the 70 weeks of years, nor by the secrets.

Also, Scripture gives certain hints as to the dates of events in its text, and also sometimes in chapter and verse numbers (placed there by God's Providence). These would be difficult or impossible to discern without first having the outline of date for events provided by an understanding of the 70 weeks of years and of the secrets.

Why has no one else today figured this out? Well, maybe other persons have figured it out and they just have not spoken up. There may be some holy monks or nuns somewhere, contemplatives perhaps, who know these things.

But it is not generally known because people are so hard in heart. They minimize the meanings of Scripture verses; they lack the faith in Scripture needed to believe that it contains specific information about the future, which cannot fail to occur, since it was written by God. They are distracted by the world and by busy lives, whereas I spend a great deal of time researching and writing on this topic.

Even so, if the faithful had more faith, they would know all these things and none of the secrets would be secret.

When I release my article disclosing what I know about the secrets and how I have reached my conclusions, then you will have a more detailed explanation on certain points. The Secrets of Medjugorje and Garabandal Revealed.

2. What do you say to your critics that nobody can know 'the hour' of the return of Jesus?

We cannot know the day or the hour of the Return of Christ. But we can know the year, since it is in Sacred Scripture, and it was also revealed by Mary in the secrets of La Salette (which are now public knowledge), and it occurs a Jubilee of Jubilees after the Birth of Christ. But Christ was also referring to His second Return, after the Millennium of peace and holiness; and I think that no one will know the exact date of that event either.

3. How can you be so sure of your predictions? You seem to be quite confident about certain things, e.g. Hillary winning in 08, her turnabout on abortion, the pope timeline, Iran/Iraq, etc... How certain are you on these things and what would be your answer to detractors if these events do not transpire as you stated?

My prediction that Hillary will win the U.S. Presidential election in 2008 is trivial and is merely an interpretation of God's Providence. The more important prediction is that she will change her mind about abortion (but will she change her heart?), and she will become pro-life.

I am more certain about the dates of the more important events, about which Scripture and private revelation (see Prophecy for Today by Edward Connor) has spoken repeatedly, and less certain about all the details of each event. I think that events will probably turn out to be somewhat more complex, especially in the way that they unfold, than I have said. I am absolutely certain about the year of Christ's return because it is based on Scripture, and the words of Mary at La Salette, and on the chronology of the Jubilee years, and more. (See my article on the subject.)

I am also certain because, as I came up with these dates and the order of events, and as I continued to study Scripture, more and more verses made sense and fit neatly into this timeline of events.

I am fallible, and the earliest versions of my book (The Bible and the Future) had some incorrect dates, but at this point in time, I have developed my eschatology to the point where I can be reasonably certain about these dates and events, at least as far as mere human knowledge and human certainty permits. There may be some individual points in my predictions which do not turn out as I have said and expected. And I don't think God wants my predictions to be 100% accurate; then people would place my words above Tradition, Scripture, Magisterium (which would be idolatry). So, I expect that I will be wrong about some predictions, and my readers should expect this also. But I think that I will be correct about all or almost all the major events, and most of the lesser events and about various details.

4. What purpose do the secrets of Medjugorje serve?

a. the secrets serve to confirm that certain private revelations are true. So when the secrets of Medjugorje are announced in advance, and then they occur, this will confirm Medjugorje as true apparitions from Heaven.

b. the secrets give the faithful the advantage of having advance knowledge of what God is doing, so that they can prepare:

[John]
{15:15} I will not now call you servants: for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth. But I have called you friends. because all things, whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you.

c. the secrets will have the effect, on persons outside of the Church, of causing them to become interested in what the faithful have to say. For the faithful will understand these things, and the secular world will not understand. So the secular world will want to know, as the secrets unfold, what does this mean and what will happen next. And they will have to go to the faithful for these answers.
