FutureMap 5
from the Return of Christ thru the Millennium until the general Resurrection
In the year 2437 A.D.
- Jesus Christ returns from Heaven, with the Virgin Mary, in the year 2437 A.D. They return in the sight of the whole world, neither secretly nor quietly.
"Behold, over the mountains, the feet of the Evangelizer and the Announcer of peace. Judah, celebrate your festivals and keep your vows. For Belial will never again pass through you; he has completely passed away." (Nahum 1:15)
- The evangelizer is Christ; the announcer of peace is Mary. Judah is the Catholic Church. Belial is the Antichrist (a false god).
- After the Return of Christ, the Church continues to teach and preach and celebrate the Sacraments. Christ's return does not bring an end to the institutional nature of the Church. Tradition, Scripture, and Magisterium continue to teach and to hold authority.
- After the Return of Christ, the Church continues to teach the world and to seek the repentance of sinners. A time is given for repentance and conversion, lasting perhaps for some number of months.
"Likewise, the power of the other beasts was taken away, and a limited time of life was appointed to them, until one time and another." (Daniel 7:12)
- The 'one time' is the period of repentance before the return of Christ, and the 'another' time is the period of repentance after the return of Christ.
- The First Fruits continue to teach and preach, even after Christ returns, just as John the Baptist continued his ministry, even after the Ministry of Christ began.
- The Antichrist is still alive, but badly wounded, upon the Return of Christ. The false prophet (a female antipope) is still alive, but has lost almost all of her followers. These two are never killed by Christ, nor by anyone else; they never die. Eventually, after the Seven Bowls of God's Wrath, they will be thrown alive into the fires of Hell.
- "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who wrought signs before him, wherewith he seduced them who received the character of the beast and who adored his image. These two were cast alive into the pool of fire burning with brimstone." (Revelation 19:20)
In the years 2438 and/or 2439 A.D.
- All those who failed to repent, during the relatively brief times permitted for repentance before and after Christ's return, are overwhelmed by the third woe: the seven bowls of God's wrath.
- The Seven Bowls of God's Wrath will be poured out upon the world, but only upon those who have failed to repent
- "And I heard a great voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels: Go and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God upon the earth." (Revelation 16:1)
- At the end of these seven great afflictions, the unrepentant wicked persons of the earth gather to make war against the Church. But no war occurs at all. They are merely killed by the power of God.
- "And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies, gathered together to make war with him that sat upon the horse and with his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who wrought signs before him, wherewith he seduced them who received the character of the beast and who adored his image. These two were cast alive into the pool of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were slain by the sword of him that sits upon the horse, which proceeds out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh." (Revelation 19:19-21)
In the year 2439 or 2440 A.D.
- God binds Satan and the other devils, so that they cannot tempt people or have any effect on life on earth.
- The First Resurrection: the dead martyrs and Saints are given a true resurrection unto eternal life, with true resurrected bodies, by Jesus Christ present on earth. The First Fruits who are still alive (those not martyred during the Antichrist's reign) are also given the benefits of the First Resurrection, without ever having to die and rise again.
(Note: it is possible that the First Resurrection will occur closer to the Return of Christ, so that the Resurrected Saints and Martyrs can preach repentance to sinners.)
- Second Ascension: Christ ascends to Heaven again. Second Assumption: Mary is assumed into Heaven again.
- Second Pentecost: Christ sends out the Holy Spirit again, this time on the whole world.
- The Church on earth continues to teach, to lead, and to celebrate the Sacraments.
In the early 2440's A.D.
- The Church on earth continues to teach, to lead, and to celebrate the Sacraments.
- A Third Testament of the Holy Bible is written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is added to the Canon of Sacred Scripture by the authority of the Sacred Magisterium.
- Disposing of the dead bodies of the very many unrepentant persons who were killed by the power of God take months and years (cf. Ezekiel 39:11-16).
- Disposing of all the weapons of war in the world will take years. Some of these will be converted into peaceful use (swords into plowshares).
During the Millennium, which lasts well over a thousand years
- The Church on earth continues lead the people of God, and now also governs the whole world. A time of great peace and great holiness prevails over all the earth. The martyrs and Saints of the First Resurrection, and the First Fruits, are great leaders and teachers in the Church on earth, teaching by word and by example.
- Christ reigns during this time through the Church and the Sacraments, especially through the Eucharist. He is not physically present on earth, except in the Eucharist, during this time, because He has ascended to Heaven.
Near the end of the Millennium
- This occurs during a brief space of time, perhaps sometime between 3500 and 4000 A.D. (not for that entire length of time, but for a very brief time somewhere within that range of years).
- The devils are released and are once again permitted to tempt people.
- Although the world has been very holy for centuries, many persons freely choose evil over good. Some of these had already gone astray in their hearts; others go astray when tempted by the fallen angels.
- These gather to make war against the Church, but they are destroyed by God in response to the prayers of the faithful on earth.
- "And when the thousand years shall be finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison and shall go forth and seduce the nations which are over the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog: and shall gather them together to battle, the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they came upon the breadth of the earth and encompassed the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And there came down fire from God out of heaven and devoured them: and the devil, who seduced them, was cast into the pool of fire and brimstone, where both the beast and the false prophet shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:7-10)
And sometime after that:
- The general Resurrection of the just and the unjust occurs. All the souls from Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell are resurrected. The wicked are given horrible bodies, befitting of their sins. The just are given glorious bodies like the resurrected bodies of Christ and Mary.
- Then God takes away Heaven and Purgatory and Hell and Earth.
- And God makes a new Heaven and a new Hell, each of which is now fit for both body and soul.
- The resurrected just are assumed into the new Heaven (Assumption of the Faithful).
- The resurrected wicked are thrown into the new Hell, where they will suffer unceasingly in both body and soul.
- And death is no more. And Purgatory is no more.
- And God makes a new Earth. And its capital is the New Jerusalem, a city created by God, not by man.
And after that...
