Unspeakable Groanings, (Rom 8:26) Prayer of the Beadsman |
|
“Prayer is the first and greatest work of Charity that we must do for our brothers and sisters.” John Paul II BEADSMAN Send Lord Your Spirit’s Groaning, Consume my heart’s bemoaning-- All souls for You and nothing less! Father, my brother may be so blessed. For the night is long, and cold the morning dew-- As my prayer becomes…”Souls”. Your prayer too. Eternally loved. Grant Thy Holy Will endure-- That special ray of light I so implore, To melt the ice, I foremost adjure! Then preparing the space for a warmer grace, Convert his whole being, of worldly lore. GOD’S REPLY All the day long for love I stretch out My hand, To all of My people, in all of the lands. Pouring out all of My Blood to make things aright, Host emptying so wholly is paled to white. Love’s Hound of Heaven the good poet sayeth, Your friend turns and spurns, his soul he delayeth. BEADSMAN Dear Mother Your Soul a sword hast pierced. To You, thoughts betray my heart in verse. Your children, my brothers all loved as One, Sharing nurse, Your grace; behold this son. Savior Jesus, dear Brother, Eternal Friend; Praise and Thanks, my prayer in You, with all saints blend. Hitherto nothing have I so humbly proposed, As to Your Father a soul, and to Your Mother a rose. |
