| Prayer For Modesty |
|
Spirit of modesty, descend I pray. Thoughts gently embraced, swoon in Your sway. Rise high soul’s sun, in the dawn of Your day. Do so attend the dark, and labyrinthine way. Find there shadowed secrets, gladdened beams do not stray, Drawing ever-closer dear light, to naught fulfilling away…. Make attractive this soul, in Him renew it. Enliven the eye, all beauty intuit. Lusting ladies of luxury, have lost their allures. Un-mired of the scurrilousness, love fixed eye abhors. On higher the holier my soul’s heart drawn, soars ! Lifting wings to heaven, choral winds of praise-full scores. Amen |
