Neonatal ICU
Timing is everything
when we arrive
when we leave
Doesn't God ever read
our schedules?

Standing by your incubator
your fist smaller
than my weakest belief
When will you grow strong
and come home?

Born far too soon
you're not much older
than another woman's abortion
God didn't read
her schedule either.

Approaching release
from your artificial womb
I rejoice in His miracle
Coming to peace
with God's timetable.
